Our associate's attention to detail and exceptional hospitality is what makes our Resort the special place it is. Every day, our associates strive to be the difference in the lives of those we serve and those we work with. Here are shining examples of our favorite moments of being the difference. 

Housemen Team

"Being the Difference" is all about creating memorable experiences for our guests. When unexpected weather brought a downpour just hours before a client's event, these gentleman along with other volunteers around the Resort moved the entire event inside (in 105 degree weather) and reset all of the table décor. The client was overwhelmed with appreciation. But - the effort & help didn't end there! La Sierra (a private meeting space in SweetFire Kitchen) was transformed for a "pink paradise" ladies happy hour the same evening. When the Housement came to clear the room, they noticed the client cleaning up all by herself, and cleaned ALL of the décor for her. Once again, the client was overwhelmed with gratitude for our wonderful staff. Thank you for these amazing and dedicated Housemen for being the difference! 

Stephen

Stephen is one of our stellar associates in our Reservations department. Stephen has consistently been a great asset to our team, and recently he reminded us of his spectacular customer service skills and mindset. Here's what a recent guest had to say about their interaction with Stephen:

"I wanted to reach out about an exceptional experience I had with [Stephen]. We are schedul[ed] to arrive to the Resort today for a trip lasting until Friday. My husband's grandmother passed away suddenly in the Dallas area. I called the Resort once I had a tentative idea of the schedule for her services and to find out if we could cancel our final night... upon explaining our situation to your [associate] he immediatlely expressed concern for our family, and offered condolences... I would not expect most businesses, especially a Resort during prime business time, to immediately react with such thoughtfulness. This is not the first time we've experience such great customer service at your Resort." - Recent Guest, June 2022

Tara

Tara works for our Leisure Sales Team, and is a dedicated and passionate service-oriented team member. 

Tara is a true difference maker - recently while delivering an amenity, a guest had a "privacy elevated sign" on their door and left a "we missed you note" on their door. Tara happened to cross path's with the guest, who informed her that her sister was feeling ill - the reason for the note on the door. Tara took it upon herself to put together a "get well" care package - including soup, juices, ginger ale, and medicine to deliver directly to the under-the-weather guest, complete with a note wishing her well from the La Cantera Resort Team. 

This is what making an impact looks like - we are grateful for you, Tara! 

Erica 

Erica works at the Villas and the adults-only floor, SEVEN, and consistently provides exceptional guest service.

Erica's story of "being the difference" revolves around a guest who recently lost her mother and mentioned to Erica that her mom’s favorite spirit was Pappy Van Winkle. Pappy Van Winkle is difficult to find as they allocate only a certain amount of bottles to a small number of establishments. Knowing that our very own Sire bar specializes in rare and unique whiskeys, Erica called to inquire and arrange a personal whiskey showcase for her guest.

Subsequently, our guest was moved to tears that we made such an arrangement for her. Erica described this moment as her “why” and was elated she was able to help our guest “see the light through such a dark time”. It is moments like these that continue to show why we are the Elite Resort of Texas. We appreciate you, Erica! 

Leading Edge Leadership Award

 

Each quarter, we nominate and recognize many leaders from departments across the property for their contributions and successes that contribute to making La Cantera Resort one of the top resorts in the nation. While each candidate is undoubtedly deserving, a winner is selected each quarter and awarded appropriately. 

Jasmine

Jasmine is a highly-skilled Resort Experience Manager, who has lead the reservations team through many challenges, including: technical outages, property changes, and developing her team to their full potential. She has successfully led this department to achieve many milestones, including a significant increase in call volume and response times. Jasmine is an exceptional leader, who is selfless and works to ensure her team delivers the highest quality service possible each and every day.

Housekeeping

Congratulations to our Department of the Quarter, Housekeeping! Because of their phenomenal leadership, effort, effectiveness, and positive attitiudes, our housekeeping department was bestowed the honor of the award! Thank you for the dedication to making our Resort the best in Texas!
